The Spaniards founded a new city on the site with the name of Tecpán. Since their arrival, the Spaniards named the area Guatemala, meaning "many trees."
Iximché is a beautiful place to know the history of the ancestors of Guatemala. The entrance fee for the archaeological site is $10.00 per person.
